Request for Proposal
Bowen Island Municipality is seeking a consultant or team of consultants to complete the project Creating a Resilient Bowen Island: A Community Economic Development Plan for Our Sustainable Future.
Funded by the provincial Rural Dividend Fund, this project is intended “to complete an Economic Development Plan that will examine short and long-term issues, needs, and opportunities to enhance existing and new businesses and associated employment that is complementary to the objectives of the Bowen Island Municipality Official Community Plan.”
The Community Economic Development Plan will help ensure a Bowen Island economy that is diverse, sustainable, and innovative, serving the needs of island residents, businesses, and visitors.
The project is structured in three phases:
Phase 1: Review and Research
Phase 2: Community Engagement
Phase 3: Formal Plan Development
Phase 1 is complete, with a findings report received by Municipal Council in April 2020. Work on Phases 2 and 3 was suspended, given COVID-19.
This Request for Proposals is to restart the project and to complete the work required between November 2020 and June 2021.
Interested applicants are encouraged to submit a proposal and resume(s) by Monday, October 26, 2020 at 4:00 PM. Interviews with shortlisted applicants are anticipated in early November 2020.
