Chokecherry Studios is looking for a passionate young person to join our team! This full-time, 6-month work experience placement is part of the CreateAction Inclusive Social Innovation program. The Wâpahki Documentary Coordinator will be a part of a network of CreateAction participants and will join in regular peer learning sessions and evaluation activities delivered by the program partners: the Canadian CED Network, the National Association of Friendship Centres, and the Social Research and Demonstration Corporation.
The Wâpahki Documentary Coordinator will oversee the creation of a five-part documentary series in partnership with Okihtcitawak Patrol Group and Prairie Harm Reduction. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- researching the topics of the documentary series
- collaborating with five youth co-directors
- writing proposals for each episode of the series
- coordinating logistics of film production
- managing production budgets
- preparing the premiere of the series
- developing branding/promotional materials
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- between the ages of 15-30 (inclusive) at the start of the placement
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person as defined by the Immigration & Refugee Act
- be legally entitled to work in Canada
- be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial legislation & regulations
- be experiencing one or more barriers to employment
- be not in education, employment or training (NEET)
