The Canadian Community Economic Development Network (CCEDNet) is seeking a Director of Human Resources. This is a leadership position that will report to the Executive Director, leading CCEDNet’s organizational policies and practices related to recruitment, staff support, team culture and well-being.

The Director of Human Resources
- participates in CCEDNet’s Leadership Team towards the achievement of strategic priorities;
- supports all CCEDNet personnel who recruit and supervise other staff
- develops and implements human resources policies and practices that create a positive and effective work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement human resource policies and practices that integrate CCEDNet’s values of equity, inclusion, diversity, dignity, self-determination, solidarity, and local control while ensuring compliance with all relevant federal and provincial legislation.
- Convene and lead CCEDNet’s Human Resources Working Group, and provide support to the Board Personnel Committee.
- Working with relevant Directors, lead staff recruitment processes, including writing postings, promoting in relevant locations, shortlisting candidates, organizing interviews, checking references, and supporting onboarding.
- Review and revise CCEDNet’s performance management systems, including staff and team-wide organizational learning.
- Participate in CCEDNet’s Leadership Team, staff meetings and other staff activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Organized, efficient and eager to contribute to CCEDNet’s mission
- At least five years experience in a HR management role
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, superior oral and written capabilities, including the ability to build professional relationships with a range of people.
- An understanding of community economic development, social economy, social enterprise, social innovation and social finance in Canada and the policy and program areas most relevant to community-based stakeholders in the field an asset.
- Knowledge, experience and commitment to gender equity, poverty reduction, reconciliation, anti-racism / anti-oppression, diversity and inclusion.
- Bilingualism (English and French, spoken and written) an asset
- University degree in human resources, personnel management, business administration, industrial relations, psychology, or a similar field, human resource certification or equivalent experience.

Location: CCEDNet staff teams are located in Victoriaville (Québec), Winnipeg, Toronto and Ottawa, with staff currently working primarily remotely. Applications from individuals anywhere in Canada who can make the case that they’ll be able to do the job effectively are welcome.
This is a half-time position (20 hours / week) starting as soon as possible, for a 9-month contract, with possibility of extension. Base wage is $31.91 - $39.11 per hour, adjusted for regional cost of living variances.
