This report draws together information from all of the research projects conducted as part of the Manitoba Research Alliance on Community Economic Development in the New Economy. It includes sections on; defining the New Economy, the New Economy in Canada with regard to education and training policies, and state policies to promote education and knowledge in the New Economy. It goes on to define Community Economic Development in Manitoba, and education and training in targeted CED communities, including urban communities, Aboriginal communities, adult learning centres and call centres. It then discusses new technology and education in rural and remote communities, and educational institutions in the North. The report concludes with recommendations to improve education and training programs. The report also includes a bibliography of selected MRA reports used for this kit.
