The Winnipeg Transition Centre is seeking a Full Time Employment Counsellor / Workshop Facilitator for a Maternity Leave Position.
JOB SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director and Office Manager, the Employment Counsellor / Workshop Facilitator is responsible for but not limited to:
- conduct intake assessment interviews
- assess the individual's barriers to employment/training and develop strategies to achieve re-employment/training goals
- direct individuals to external community resources
- prepare for and facilitate workshops and intake sessions
- deliver community presentations to market the WTC services, visit outside agencies and employers to promote our referral and outplacement services
- schedule participants for job search workshops; resume, interview and self-marketing,
- provide individual career exploration sessions
- match job orders to participants, forwarding resumes in response to employer requests
- monitor and revise project activities and materials to increase effectiveness
- perform administrative duties that include word processing, database entry and assisting clients with their needs
Experience/Skills
- 1 to 3 years related employment counselling experience or equivalent combination of education and
- experience, ideally, working with unemployed workers
- Very knowledgeable of current labour market conditions
- Administrative, computer and keyboarding skills (word processing, database entry and multimedia presentations)
Salary: $30,000 to $32,000 per year
