Local Investment Toward Employment (LITE) is a non-profit granting organization that supports community economic development (CED) initiatives that build capacity and provide jobs in Winnipeg's inner city. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to serve as the organization's Executive Director. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual who is passionate about Community Economic Development (CED), the inner city, social justice, and has well-honed public speaking and financial management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide day to day organization management including policy and administration management.
• Work with board on monthly and yearly planning.
• Implement budget; combined with ongoing financial management and accounting responsibilities.
• Manage and hire staff.
• Promote and manage fundraising and sponsorship relationships.
• Oversee and evaluate fundraising and disbursement activities.
• Prepare and submit funding proposals and report back.
• Represent LITE at events and in the broader CED community.
• Recruit and retain volunteers.

Education and Experience:

• Experience with LITE and Winnipeg's CED organizations and projects an asset.
• Experience working with a volunteer board or non-profit organization.
• Post Secondary diploma or degree preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of financial management and marketing.
• Strategic planning skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, written, oral and public speaking; including the ability to network and communicate internally and externally.
• Strong decision making, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Strong administrative skills with the ability to multi task.
• Competent in Microsoft Office, Excel, Access and Simply Accounting.
• A commitment to CED principles and social and economic justice

Hours: 30hrs a week
Wage: Starting at $20 per hour based on qualifications
