The Canadian Executive Service Organization (CESO) is a unique, volunteer-based, not-for-profit organization founded in 1967. Its mission is to build capacity in governance and economic development through the transfer of knowledge and skills by Volunteer Advisers. CESO has the following opportunity in its National (Aboriginal) Services Department.
Do you have:
- Experience working with Aboriginal communities?
- Proven management and leadership skills? (governance / community development experience)
- Strong interpersonal skills?
- A flair and solid track record for marketing and community development?
There is one direct report to this position, and a travel requirement.
You will bring:
- Aboriginal heritage strongly desired
- In-depth knowledge of issues and government policies, regulations, and knowledge of surrounding Aboriginal organizations and communities
- Client-centric attitude of needs for the appropriate assignment of volunteers
- Knowledge and experience with principles of project and program management, and capacity building
- University degree or equivalent of education and experience
- Aptitude for client and sponsor relations; travel approximately 1/3 -1/2 of the time
- Ability to work effectively with volunteers and Aboriginal People
- Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills
