2009 Annual UBCM Convention

You are here

Date:
28 September, 2009 to 2 October, 2009
The 2009 UBCM Convention celebrates the recent successes of local governments across British Columbia, and encourages us to share in each other's pride and achievements as we open our communities to the world.
As local government leaders, this is what you can be - champions of your communities. By examining the ideals that we value in our Olympians, we can also identify the attributes that we would like to see in our communities and ourselves.

This convention will be a platform upon which we can all prepare for the unique time ahead. Moreover, this week will give every delegate the opportunity to widen their scope of knowledge, strengthen connections and develop a strategy for approaching local challenges. Through discussions and knowledge sharing on issues such as crime prevention, economic development and volunteerism, this convention will highlight and inspire growth and development in many facets of local government.

We hope that delegates use this convention to pass the knowledge "torch " on to those with similar goals, as well as to spark inspiration for upcoming projects and welcome the opportunity to emerge as champions!
