Job Description
- Recruit and train volunteer pastoral care teams of 2-3 people to staff each Drop-In (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday)
- Recruit and train volunteer pastoral care teams of 2-3 people for both the Monday and Friday Food Supplement Programs
- Recruit and train 2 administrative volunteers
- Develop job descriptions for these volunteers
- Develop policies and procedures for these volunteer positions
- Develop protocols for reporting, communication, supervision, evaluation and appreciation
- Identify knowledge, skills, abilities and motivations required to fulfill these volunteer roles
- Assess potential risks for volunteer positions and address with appropriate screening protocols and by identifying training needs
- Orient volunteers to the Community Ministry
- Arrange for volunteer orientation and training
- Identify necessary community resources and back-up personnel
- Arrange for workshops and/or outside expertise (e.g. first aid/CPR, mental illness awareness, conflict resolution, non-violent crisis intervention etc.)
