In Inner City Voices - Community Based Solutions, State of the Inner City Report 2006, The Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives - Manitoba, with The Canadian CED Network and many other community partners, examines the accomplishments and ongoing challenges of the inner city and puts forward ideas from those who live and breathe inner city life every day.
This year the State of the Inner City Report looks at the progress of development in two Winnipeg neighborhoods - West Broadway and North Point Douglas. It examines the issue of safety and policing in the inner city and reports on settlement issues as described through the voices of inner-city refugee women. The Report also documents a collaborative process underway to measure the impact of participation in community-based programs through the voices of community residents.
