Canadian Crossroads International is currently seeking an innovative and engaged individual with women’s rights programming experience to join our team as Program Officer, Women’s Rights.
Reporting to the Team Leader, the Program Officer, Women’s Rights will work with partner organisations, allies and volunteers in Ghana and Togo to reduce violence against women and girls, and to increase women’s political representation and participation in decision making. Working closely with other members of the women’s equality program team, s/he will also work on women’s equality initiatives across countries and issues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- University degree or equivalent in a related field;
- Minimum three years related work experience, including some overseas work experience;
- In-depth knowledge in the area of women’s equality and experience in women’s rights programming
- Experience in results-based management and project and program monitoring and evaluation;
- Experience in developing and managing organisational partnerships globally;
- Knowledge of the women's movement or women's organizations in Canada;
- Experience working with volunteers or knowledge of international volunteering;
- Experience in organizational development and capacity building;
- Commitment to and experience with applying a gender analysis in the management of development projects and programs;
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills;
- Demonstrated competence in the use of computer software and communication tools: word-processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet and e-mail;
- Fluent written and oral communications in English and French essential;
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including in a cross-cultural context
- Initiative, creativity;
- Capacity to work in a team;
- Experience in Africa a significant asset.
Essential Conditions:
- Ability to travel overseas and in Canada and be away from home for frequent short periods;
- To work an average of 35 hours per week where some weekend work will be required;

The salary range for this position is $42,637 - $51,164
