Retention and Training Coordinator
BUILD’s retention and training coordinator is generally responsible for working with trainees to help them meet their short, medium, and long term career goals and professional development objectives. In general the incumbent is responsible for their exit strategy. This staff person works in tandem with the Life Skills Coach who is assisting the trainees in their personal development.
The incumbent will be responsible for implementing the Retention and Training Program.
Training and Retention Program:
- Accepting resume’s and coordinating interviews (intake process)
- Coordinating workshops and training sessions (WHMIS, First Aid, CPR, Manitoba Hydro)
- Coordinating Workplace Health and Safety Committee
- Supervise BUILD’s half time tutor who heads up our Driver’s Licensing Program
- ID collection
- Tutoring for Driver’s Licensing Test
- Practice Driving
- Maintaining relationship with Manitoba Apprenticeship
- Arranging tours for trainees of training institutions (Red River College, Aboriginal Centre, R.B. Russell etc..)
- Develop links with employers in the construction industry who would hire our graduates
- Chiefly responsible for individual exit strategies.
Salary $40,000 per annum.
