Summary
The Event Planner, Field Trip Program is part of the Events department and assists with planning, organizing and coordinating internal and external events. Additionally the Event Planner, Field Trip program is primarily responsible for the marketing and outreach development and implementation of a Field Trip Program for local schools and children.
This is a 24-week position combining work experience, training and supports. Applicants must be 15-30 years of age and meet eligibility criteria.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Develop promotional, marketing and program materials for the Field Trip Program
- Outreach, Promotion and Marketing of the Field Trip Program to schools, school boards, childcare centres, community organizations and networks
- Compile and maintain accurate and up to date contact information
- In conjunction with the Field Trip Program Coordinator, book and facilitate field trip visits
- Overseeing payments and accounts receivable for Field Trip visitors
- Research, document and advise on relevant issues, policies, and concerns relating to ongoing delivery and access to the Field Trip Program
- Assist in the ongoing evaluation of the Field Trip Program
- To create and maintain event database using Event Pro Planner
Qualifications
- Creative design and marketing skills
- Knowledgeable in a variety of software (e.g. corel, illustrator, MS Office)
- Willingness/ability to work under pressure and respond nimbly to deadlines
- Excellent organizational skills. Assiduous attention to detail
- Team orientated with an ability to work independently and problem-solving skills
- Positive, can-do attitude, appreciation for approval process
- Able to relate to a variety of socio-economic and cultural groups, parents, youth and children
Eligibility Criteria:
Between the ages of 15 to 30, legally entitled to work in Canada, out of school, not receiving EI benefits, in need of assistance to overcome employment barriers
Duration: Oct. 18, 2010 to March 31, 2010
