Summary

The Field Trip Program Coordinator is responsible for the design, development and implementation of a Field Trip Program for local schools and children. The Field Trip Program will offer educational, arts and recreational activities connected to LEF’s Bicycle Assembly and Maintenance Facility.

This is a 24-week position combining work experience, training and supports. Applicants must be 15-30 years of age and meet eligibility criteria.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, implement and evaluate field trip programs for a range of different age groups including fun and exciting educational, arts, and recreational activities
  • Ensure Field Trip activities meet all health and safety standards in compliance with all applicable legislation and LEF policies
  • Conduct evaluative follow up with schools
  • Explore, research, and make recommendations on other approached to increased community and youth opportunities and programs to access the facility
  • Implement and adjust program based on evaluation and recommendations
  • Develop and maintain budget and financial records, costing, cash flow forecasting
  • Work in consultation and cooperation with relevant LEF departments and staff including childcare, youth services, events department, BAM Program Instructor and students
  • Assists in outreach and program promotion to local schools and childcare centres
  • Attends meetings and professional development
  • Maintains excellent documentation and statistical information related to the program

Qualifications:

  • Experience facilitating community recreation and social programs for children and youth
  • Experience in program design and implementation of social and recreation activities for children and youth
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of bicycle maintenance, cycling an asset

Eligibility Criteria:

Between the ages of 15 to 30, legally entitled to work in Canada, out of school, not receiving EI benefits, in need of assistance to overcome employment barriers

Duration: Oct. 18, 2010 to March 31, 2010
