The John Howard Society of Manitoba (JHS), a non-profit, community justice agency, has an opening for a Literacy Assistant. JHS runs a literacy program for the inmates of the Winnipeg Remand Centre, as well as a drop-in literacy program for people in the community. Reporting to the Literacy Coordinator and to the Executive Director, the successful candidate will become part of our literacy team.
Successful candidate will be highly self motivated and organized. Will have the skills to manage a busy community office, while still being able to complete tasks. This position will work closely with our housing coordinator, with potential for succession into that position

Green Action Centre, the Manitoba Eco-Network, the Green Action Committee of the Unitarian Church and the Provincial Council of Women of Manitoba are organizing an all-party forum on the environment. Come hear representatives from the major federal political parties address and debate their party positions on important environmental issues.
Hours: Up to 32 hours per week, starting May 2nd, 2011.
Wage: $13-15 per hour depending on experience, and program funding.

Spence Neighbourhood Association is looking for a Community Liaison. This is a full time position.
The Community Liaison person will be responsible for day-to-day communication with the Spence community, City of Winnipeg and other partners and stakeholders. The Community Liaison person works closely with the Executive Director as well as the Youth Programming Coordinator and staff.
