At our AGM this past June, CCEDNet members passed a resolution calling on CCEDNet to urge the federal and provincial governments to enshrine the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) into law.
One of the loudest and most frequent demands of Indigenous people in the relationship with settlers is for the return of the land.
COVID-19 has exposed and significantly increased pre-existing racial inequities in Canada. The policy responses by different orders of government have failed to redress structural and systemic disadvantages along racial lines.
