Announcement
The Centre for Sustainable Community Development at Simon Fraser University and the Canadian CED Network (CCEDNet) are very pleased to announce our new partnership for the delivery of the non-credit SFU Certificate Program for CED Professionals.
Since its initiation by the Centre in 2000, the program of eight two-day courses has been delivered in Vancouver and throughout BC, from Haida Gwaii and Vancouver Island to Terrace, Smithers and Penticton. It has also been successfully adapted for learners in Ukraine and Mexico with a new project beginning in Bolivia later this year.
The rich mix of participants represents the full range of CED workplaces and interests including Aboriginal economic development, regional planning, Community Futures, environmental organizations, co-operatives and credit unions, social enterprises and anti-poverty, urban planners, employment creation and community service projects.
Our new partnership will allow the program to expand its scope, building on CCEDNet's broad membership and active outreach activity. The transition will occur over the next few months.
Nicole Chaland of CCEDNet is the new Program Director; and Melanie Conn from the CSCD will continue to provide support as the Program Consultant.
For more information about the program see the program website: www.sfu.ca/cscd/ced. For inquiries about the program, course content and regional delivery, please contact Nicole Chaland at certced@sfu.ca or (250) 386-9980 ext 103.
