This document presents the results of a survey of 78 community-based initiatives that examined their comprehensive efforts through a social inclusion lens. While many respondents appreciated the opportunity to view their activities through this lens, the language and concepts were unfamiliar and often required reformulation to be understood. If the concept of social inclusion is to be retained as a useful framework for analyzing comprehensive, community-based efforts, ongoing dialogue and opportunities for practitioners to appropriate and apply the concept to their practice will be necessary.
