A value chain is a partnership between farmers, input suppliers, processors, distributors and food service operators or retailers in order to generate greater profit. The purpose of this workshop is to assist participants in identifying opportunities to improve the competitiveness of their business.

Participants will explore all facets of value chain management using real-world examples of successful value chains from Canada and around the world. They will learn in an interactive, hands-on format how producers are adopting the value chain strategy. Using examples of lessons learnt from successful value chain alliances from around the world, including Canada, the workshop will enable participants to explore the significant benefits that value chain management may hold for their businesses and gain greater awareness of how a rapidly growing number of producers worldwide are adopting this strategy to improve their business practices and long-term profitability.

The workshop will be Monday November 17th, 2008 in Dauphin, Manitoba at the Parkland Recreation Complex, Lion's Den.

The cost is $50 per person with $45 each additional person from the same enterprise. $35 for students. Lunch as well as two nutritional breaks are included.
