The theme of WW 2011will be ‘Inclusions, Exclusions, and Seclusions: Living in a Globalized World.’ Outreach is underway to draw a rich cross-section of people into the conversation — from academics to activists, from researchers to policy-makers. Join WW 2011 organizers at the Riverdale Immigrant Women’s Centre on May 25th, 2010 for more detailed information on the conference, the process of proposal submission for presentations, and access to the Solidarity Fund for individuals and organizations from under-resourced and under-represented communities. The WW 2011 organizers will be on hand to answer any questions you may have. Please RSVP by Tuesday, May 18th, 2010. As space is limited, acceptance of registration requests will depend on the representation of different sectors and communities attending the meeting. A response to your request for registration will be confirmed within 7 days of its submission. For more details on the Information Session please contact Andrea Chan, Information Session Coordinator at andrea.riwc@gmail.com. About WW 2011 Around the world, women are grappling with changing political, cultural, economic, social, and environmental realities. And the effects of numerous crises — be they economic, ecological, or health-related — intensify obstacles to women’s equality. As global hierarchies realign, how are gender roles and identities evolving? How are social identifications like power, privilege, citizenship, and nation affected?Where globalization and women are concerned, provocative questions abound. Examining these complex issues means reflecting on, learning, and sharing a variety of ideas and experiences — especially those of women most deeply affected. WW 2011 will be just the kind of space for this critical conversation.
