Peter is Chief  Executive  of the Plunkett Foundation, which supports rural communities to take co-operative control of the issues that matter to them, such as saving their village shop. He came to the post after spending his lifetime in the co-operative Movement,  where he was best  known for helping to make Oxford, Swindon &  Gloucester Co-op an  internationally recognised example for engaging  members and marketing its  co-operative identity. He served on the the Co-operative Brand Panel, which led the project to rebrand the co-operative movement in the UK. He is currently researching a book on Plunkettism, the method of co-operative development created by Sir Horace Plunkett and his circle in late Nineteenth Century Ireland, and its relevance today.
