Social Enterprise is an approach that has gained significant attention in the non-profit world in Canada. While social enterprise is not new, many organizations are exploring how alternative income streams can help further their mission. But is it right for your organization? This interactive half-day session will provide an opportunity for participants to explore in greater detail the benefits and challenges of social enterprise, key success factors, and strategies to determine organizational readiness and fit.

About the Presenter:
Alex Snelgrove works with Aperio, a management consulting firm that works exclusively with non-profit organizations and social purpose businesses. Alex works with a diverse group of clients to help organizations creatively address critical challenges, including support in the areas of strategic planning, organization and governance review, social enterprise and earned income, partnership strategy, program design, and evaluation. Prior to joining Aperio, Alex worked as a Senior Manager with an international development organization; with a focus on Africa and Asia, she conceived, developed, and implemented a number of initiatives that strengthened small businesses. Alex previously worked in trade promotion in Malaysia in both the private and public sectors, including three years as Executive Director of the Malaysia Canada Business Council.

Registration cost is $40 per person and includes instruction, refreshments and handouts. We will refund cancellations but hold back $20 per registrant for cancellations up to 72 hours prior to the workshop. No refunds are provided for cancellations that occur within 72 hours of the session.
