25 June, 2013
Start Time:
8:00AM

On June 25th, CCEDNet and Aki Energy are partnering to offer a chance to tour Manitoba and experience first hand the work of one of Canada's emerging social enterprises. Aki Energy is an

Aboriginal social enterprise linking First Nations to the green economy. Its emphasis is on creating green jobs. Aki Energy is committed to lowering utility bills on First Nations by installing geothermal heat systems -- their work saves money and creates local jobs and business opportunities for First Nations. Comprehensive geothermal training programs certify First Nation construction companies to install, maintain and service geothermal systems.

Why a bus tour?
Experience first hand this exciting new social enterprise developed by CCEDNet member BUILD, in partnership with several First Nations communities. See the model and its impact Aki Energy is already making in person with leaders and participants. In addition, this day is a fantastic opportunity to network with like-minded people from a variety of communities.
