Social innovation is about bringing out positive change, but how do you know if you've succeeded? How do you know what kind of impact you're having and how can you better learn about what you're doing to develop, enhance and sell your product offerings to the public, clients, and funders? What are the thinking tools and strategies needed to apply evaluation to social innovation?
In this interactive 1-day workshop you'll find answers to these questions and learn:
- How to see and think about the systems you are in;
- What Developmental Evaluation and Developmental Design are and how they can inform your work in generating adaptive and sustainable programs, products and services;
- How to develop feedback systems (data collection) that meets your needs and fits your resources;
- How to define and envision social innovation for your enterprise;
- How to ask useful questions about what you do and how you do it that lead to productive innovation, rather than stifle it altogether;
- The fundamentals of strategy as it relates to a social innovation mission and evaluation;
- What the design fundamentals are for innovating as you go
This workshop is aimed at social entrepreneurs, those working in health and social services, government, academia and industry who want to learn how to influence social change and better understand their efforts to create adaptive, responsive and effective programs and services. Join Cameron Norman, the Principal of CENSE Research + Design, and others working in social innovation for this interactive learning experience. Dr. Norman has graduate degrees in psychology, design and a doctorate in public health. He's also been trained in complex systems and holds a Credentialed Evaluator designation with the Canadian Evaluation Society. Dr. Norman brings more than 20 years experience working in social innovation contexts and brings together research and design to support organizations in becoming better at what they do.
