The World Social Forum is a space for democratic debate of ideas, reflective thinking, exchange of experiences among networks, NGOs and other civil society organizations that are opposed to neoliberalism and to domination of the world by capital and any form of imperialism. 

The World Social Forum is also characterized by its plurality and diversity. It is neither religious nor government nor partisan. It aims to facilitate associations and movements, both locally and internationally, in concrete actions to build another world for a global civil society. The World Social Forum is not an association or an organization.
