Register for Tools for Effective Community Engagement
You can run but you can’t hide; everyone from your local government, community group, or the parent’s committee at school seems to be hosting a community engagement.
Community engagement is used to draw in the experience and expertise of others, usually to inform and improve a process or decision. But in an age of diverse communities and competing interests, what does community engagement look like? How does one go about it? And more important – how do you know if you are doing it well?
Spend a half day in discussion and activities to explore these questions and others. Learn and practice some community engagement techniques, and develop confidence to successfully and meaningfully connect with community.
Workshop objectives:
- Understand what is community engagement – and its various shapes and sizes;
- Engage hands-on with community engagement tools and techniques;
- Brainstorm ways to translate information gathered into action; and
- Learn from each other.
Who should attend?
Anyone from grassroots organizations or private public and non-profit sectors who communicate and connect with the public.
