The annual Inclusive Leadership Gatherings are the heart-beat and breath of the Inclusive Leadership Co-operative. From June 27 to 29, 2015 Inclusive Leaders from diverse cultures, generations, abilities and places will gather at Cowichan Lake Education Centre, Vancouver Island, BC, Canada for 1, 2, or all 3 days of exploring, sharing and celebrating leadership in inclusive community-building. Join the Inclusive Leadershiup Co-operative for another energizing, inspiring, and relaxed opportunity to explore, share, and celebrate the many ways Inclusive Leaders are transforming communities by embracing social diversity and bio-diversity.
Who is Inclusive Leadership for?
If you are wondering whether or not you are part of the Inclusive Leadership Community, you already are. Every single person who values safety, respect, equality and joy has a vital role to play in building welcoming and inclusive communities based on embracing differences as gifts. Inclusive Leadership is for individuals, families, and groups. Government, non-profits, schools, co-operatives, and businesses are invited to send adults and youth. Inter-generational groups of adults, youth and children are encouraged to register. Everyone is welcome. You will meet people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds.You will meet educators and other group facilitators; community-builders, activists, artists and administrators; youth, adults, and families; professionals, volunteers, retirees, students and people from many other leadership backgrounds. Bring your whole family and make it into a participatory-education-for-changing-the-world holiday! There will be active child and youth friendly alternatives to choose during workshop sessions, including fabulous opportunities to play, play, play with Inclusive Leaders and extraordinary Child Minders Tara Jordan and Glaucia Desrochers and their children.
What is our Purpose?
Board member Kix Citton explains that the Inclusive Leadership Co-operative hosts this annual gathering because, “We are part of a world-wide movement made up of individuals and groups who care about people and the planet in ways that are life-enriching and life-sustaining. We look forward to learning with and from everyone who attends the gathering.”
Here is what we will be doing:
- Share leadership with new and experienced Inclusive Leaders
- Explore, share and celebrate differences as gifts that enrich communities.
- Join new and experienced Inclusive Leaders in facilitating and mentoring Inclusive Leadership development in ourselves, our communities and the wider world.
- Saturday, June 27 will be a day and evening of exploring the rhythms, harmonies, nature and art of diversity. Experience an inclusive and welcoming FESTIVAL in which we are all musicians, artists, explorers, and appreciative audiences. Connect with the beauty of the beach and forest at Cowichan Lake Education Centre. Participate in swimming, nature walks, art, music and much more.
- Sunday June 28 and Monday June 29, will offer an array of participatory workshops, interactive presentations, and hands-on activities co-facilitated by people who are putting Inclusive Leadership into action in many different ways.
- During all three days there will be plenty of time to enjoy the Inclusive Leadership community, the beach, the trails, delicious food and comfortable accommodation of Cowichan Lake Education Centre.
