The National Conference will be hosted in Montréal at Hotel Bonaventure, May 18 to May 20.

WHY ATTEND?

  • Connect with hundreds of people across Canada who share a passion for building strong, inclusive community economies.
  • Learn from others about strategies that are working to generate positive local economic, social and environmental impacts in communities across Canada and elsewhere.
  • Share what your priorities are, from addressing workforce development needs to revitalizing your community and more.
  • Leave empowered to make a difference in your community and in your workplace through the relationships you've developed with other participants and the new knowledge you'll have gained.

WHAT IS CED?

  • Community Economic Development (CED) is action by people locally to create economic opportunities that improve social conditions, particularly for those who are most disadvantaged.
  • CED is an approach that recognizes that economic, environmental and social challenges are interdependent, complex and ever-changing.
  • To be effective, solutions must be rooted in local knowledge and led by community members. CED promotes holistic approaches, addressing individual, community and regional levels, recognizing that these levels are interconnected.
