Since its introduction in 2015, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have been a transformative global agenda incorporating the vision of sustainable, just, and equitable development in economic, social, and environmental aspects. Together 2018: Collaboration, Innovation and the Sustainable Development Goals is Canada’s second annual symposium on the SDGs. The main event will be held in Edmonton, Alberta, but to share the energy, enthusiasm and action in Canada and around the globe, the event will be live-streamed simutaneously.

Atlantic Council for International Cooperation (ACIC) is presenting the Together 2018 Charlottetown event. This event includes food, networking time, live-streaming of Local to Global: Canada’s Progress on the SDGs at Home and Around the World and live-streaming of keynote presentation by Shiza Shahid, Co-founder NOW Ventures & Malala Fund.

Will also be offered a live panel discussion about the SDG #5 Gender Equality with locals panelists:

  • Jillian Kilfoil, Executive Director, Women’s Network PEI who will be speaking to what gender equality means on PEI and what efforts the Women's Network is involved in to further gender equality.
  • Susan Hartley formerly with Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan and Rotary Peace Fellow, will share about the concept of gender equality in international settings and the role of women in Canada.
  • Jane Ledwell, Executive Director, PEI Advisory Council on the Status of Women
