BOYS AND GIRLS CLUBS OF WINNIPEG
The Sister MacNamara Boys and Girls Club is an after school and evening youth
development program that operates 5 days per week. The program provides children and
youth, ages 6-18, with programs and activities that contribute to their physical, social,
educational and emotional development. The Club Manager works collaboratively with
staff and volunteers of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Winnipeg to ensure that project goals
are achieved. This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits. The standard work
week will be 35 hours weekly. The position starts April 2008.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• supervision and support to staff and volunteers
• coordination of programs and activities that are age and culturally appropriate and
include a balance of sports, arts, leisure, education and life skills
• designing, implementing, supervising and evaluating progressively challenging
programs and activities for the club's members
• initiating and maintaining positive communication with a number of professionals
and community representatives
• handling crisis situations with members and families
• maintaining program records and reports
• managing program budgets and financial records
• ensuring the safety of all participants
QUALIFICATIONS
• post-secondary education in a related field
• experience supervising staff and/or volunteers
• experience planning, supervising and evaluating programs for children and youth,
especially areas of art, sport, education, culture and active recreation.
• strong organizational skills, initiative and judgment
• excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• knowledge of youth development, youth issues and community resources
• ability to relate to individuals of diverse social and cultural backgrounds
• must have or be willing to obtain a class 4 drivers license and emergency first aid
• must have access to a reliable vehicle and willing to work evenings
