A community-based, volunteer driven organization that engages Winnipeggers and mobilizes collective action to improve lives and build community, has two challenging opportunities for individuals with the following attributes:
o Experience working with volunteers and building relationships.
o Capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
o Ability to prioritize and manage a diverse workload with competing deadlines.
o Project planning, implementation, monitoring and assessment.
o Excellent communication skills (both orally and in writing).
COMMUNITY INVESTMENT MANAGER
Reporting to the Community Investment Director and as a member of a team will: provide staff support to volunteer teams responsible for ensuring accountability for United Way's investments in community based organizations, manage a portfolio of investments in community-based organizations and establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have three to five years experience working in a community based organization or in social planning as well as certification or a degree in a related field (eg. Community development, social work or business administration), or an equivalent combination. In addition experience evaluating outcomes and a working knowledge of basic budgeting practices and financial administration would be an asset.
