The Boys and Girls Clubs of Winnipeg is currently seeking a Program Facilitator for our
Freight House Club. This position will provide children from the ages of 6-18 with
programs and activities that focus on their physical, social and emotional development.
This is a full-time position with benefits. The standard work week will be 35 hours
exclusive of lunch breaks. The wage starts at $11.84-$14.56 hourly depending on
education and work experiences. Reporting to the Club Manager, the Program Facilitator
will work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to ensure project goals are
accomplished.
Responsibilities
The Program Facilitator assists the Club Manager in:
• acting as a positive role model for youth
• planning, implementing, supervising and evaluating progressively challenging
programs and activities for members
• providing supervision and support to staff and volunteers.
• assuming a leading role in developing activities which are age and culturally
appropriate and include a balance of sports, arts, leisure, educational and life skills.
• developing and maintaining positive communication with a number of other
professionals and community members.
• maintaining accurate records of club activities and following established procedures
for incidents.
• assuring the safety of all participants.
Qualifications
• preferably a post-secondary education in a related field.
• experience planning and supervising programs for children and youth.
• strong organizational skills, initiative and judgment.
• knowledge of youth development, youth issues and community resources.
• knowledge of Aboriginal culture
• ability to relate to individuals of diverse social and cultural backgrounds.
• must have or acquire a valid class 4 drivers license and emergency first aid.
• must be able to work evenings and Sundays.
