EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - COMMUNITY SOCIAL PLANNING COUNCIL OF GREATER VICTORIA (Community Council)

A challenging and exciting role for a visionary who has a passion about enhancing the quality of life for the citizens of BC's Capital Region. This role will be of interest to a candidate who has knowledge and experience of collaborative community building, working in a shared leadership model and leading an entrepreneurial non-profit organization. Strategically addressing current and emerging community issues, supporting long term social change, creating local knowledge and reliable information and increasing public understanding about quality of life issues are the priorities of the Community Council. These priorities are in support of and aligned to the vision of an empowered, strong, caring and inclusive community.

The preferred candidate will have strong community engagement and research skills and the ability to lead and inspire a highly motivated team of eight. In addition, the candidate will have superior facilitation and negotiation skills, strong initiative, creative problem solving skills, and proven capacity to promote the work of the Community Council and build strategic partnerships.

Ideally the candidate will have a level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Community Planning or related discipline, and seven to ten years leadership experience.

 

The salary range for this position will be $60,000 to $70,000.
