Human Rights Commission Officer
There is a vacancy on the Human Rights Commission which the Commission would like to be filled by a visible minority appointment from outside of Winnipeg. The Commission decides on the validity of complaints it receives and works to resolve those complaints that it determines are valid. Any complaints it cannot resolve are referred to a hearing by the Human Rights Commission Adjudicators.
Candidates for the vacancy should have a background related to human rights issues and the ability to understand and apply related laws. As well, candidates should have the ability to give impartial consideration to complaints and be able to arrive at and put forth an informed position with respect to a complaint. Good communication skills are required.
Nominations are required by June 13, 2008.
