COMMUNITY ACCESS PROGRAM YOUTH INITIATIVE (CAP-YI)
The Community Access Program-Youth Initiative (CAP-YI) is currently seeking energetic and enthusiastic leaders between the ages of 16 and 30 for a community intern position. The successful candidate will work to support public computer access sites (CAP) in Manitoba and will work closely with the residents of the Marlene Street community (subsidized family housing complex).
Successful Candidates will possess the following:
- Strong interest in Information and Communication Technology, and Community Development
- Strong computer, communication, leadership, and inter-personal skills
- Strong time management, organizational, and project management skills
- Demonstrated community commitment through volunteer and other efforts
Key responsibilities:
- Assist to promote and create awareness of the Community Resource Network (CRN)
- Provide training sessions (Cyber Camps) to a wide target audience
- Assist to provide technical support to the CRN
- Assist to provide web page design services
- Assist in providing administrative services for the CRN
- Encourage and engage community residents (children, youth and adults) to strengthen computer-related skills and broaden internet awareness

Requirements:
- May need to possess a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle or other means of transportation.
- Must be between the ages of 16 and 30 and under or unemployed.
- May need to undergo a criminal record check and/or child abuse registry check.
