Community Futures Winnipeg River

Community Futures Winnipeg River is a non-profit, regional economic development organization that provides business and community development services to the North Eastman region. The Corporation is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and organized individual for the position of Business Development Officer.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of the Self Employment Program, assisting clients with development of business plans including market research and financial forecasting and analysis. He or she will provide assistance, counseling, and support to clients in all aspects of business management, and will help entrepreneurs develop solutions for business challenges or problems. The Business Development Officer will also assist with providing other business development services such as the Entrepreneurs with Disabilities Program and coordinating the administration of the Canada/Manitoba Business Service Centre Regional Site.

Applicants must have a strong background in business planning and financial analysis, and be knowledgeable of small business start-up, marketing and management. Strong organizational, analytical and research skills, and client counseling skills are required. Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, a commitment to teamwork, and the ability to meet deadlines are essential. Post-secondary education in business administration, commerce, rural development or a related field is required. Entrepreneurial business experience would be a definite asset.

The position is located in Lac du Bonnet, Manitoba and will require some local travel. Salary is in the range of $34,000 to $41,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.
