The BC Healthy Communities Resource Coordinator is based in downtown Victoria and reports directly to the BC Healthy Communities Director. The Resource Coordinator is primarily responsible for providing critical administrative and logistical support to the BCHC Director in overseeing day to day operations at a local, regional and provincial level as well as playing a key role in developing systems and structures for turning innovative ideas into action.

Duties

  • Developing and maintaining Central Office administrative systems such as:
  • Supporting financial administration-tracking and managing invoices, credit cards, regional/provincial budgets;
  • Managing scheduling and logistics, developing agendas and reports
  • Managing regional and provincial staff reporting and other deadlines
  • Maintaining healthy communities inventories, databases and other key local, regional and provincial information
  • Assisting in information management, data collection and evaluation as necessary
  • Assisting the Director in supporting the BCHC Steering Committee, including interfacing with members, organizing meetings, recording meeting minutes
  • Tracking, monitoring and synthesizing information about BCHC initiatives across the province
  • Assisting in research and compilation of timely and relevant healthy communities information
  • Assisting in planning and management of local, regional and provincial BCHC events
  • Assisting with management and implementation of the BCHC Seed Grant program
  • Managing the Provincial Network

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a business/public administration/community development program
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience
  • Strong computer skills -proficient using a MAC with a knack for learning new programs
  • Strong business skills an asset
  • Experience with non-profit/community development/health promotion/local government an asset

This is a full-time position based on 35 hours per week. Competitive vacation package and wage offered.
