Energy Efficiency Outreach Assistant
Start Date: Immediately
City Green Solutions, the only social enterprise ecoENERGY assessment service provider in British Columbia, is seeking to expand its communications and marketing team. The Energy Efficiency Outreach Assistant will promote the value of energy efficiency upgrades to homes and businesses through a range of activities that will include, but not be limited to:
- conducting lighting assessments on small businesses,
- staffing information booths,
- delivering marketing materials to stakeholders within the CRD, and
- otherwise supporting the City Green outreach, communications team and office administration.
Outreach content will focus on available federal, provincial and municipal energy efficiency grants and rebates available to homeowners and small to medium business owners. This is an entry level position with potential for contract extension and advancement. City Green will provide training and direction, but the Outreach Assistant will spend the majority of their time in the field, actively promoting our programs; minimal time will be spent in an office environment.

General Qualifications
- Personal and professional fit with City Green's vision and mission;
- Excellent communication (oral, written and telephone) skills;
- Ability to interact well with the public, home and business owners and willingness to represent City Green Solutions and our partnership programs;
- Demonstrated sales experience an asset;
- Willing and motivated to work independently;
- Computer experience with the following programs: Outlook, MS Office, including Excel and Internet search engines;
- Possession of a valid British Columbia license - in good standing;
- Access to a reliable vehicle with liability insurance of not less than $1,000,000 an asset but not mandatory and/or interested and ability to bicycle within the CRD for work activities;
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience with energy efficient lighting products an asset;
- Interest in and awareness of sustainable lifestyle choices that use less energy to create a higher quality of life and address climate change;
- High level of attention to detail and excellent follow-through skills are essential.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously under minimal supervision.
- Ability to adapt to a fast pace, dynamic and ever changing atmosphere.
- Interested in continual learning to meet the evolving knowledge requirements of the energy efficiency sector in BC.
Responsibilities
- Operate as a representative of City Green and our partnership programs to promote energy efficiency;
- Design, setup and host public display booths on an ongoing basis;
- Coordinate with City Green staff for scheduling purposes;
- Conduct on-site lighting audits of local businesses;
- Prepare reports, present and explain the business case and rebates available to support custom lighting upgrades to local business owners;
- Complete and submit, on a timely basis, all reports and electronic files required;
- Respond promptly to all City Green and client issues and inquiries;
- Attend scheduled team meetings and training sessions as required

- Job training will be provided.
- Successful candidate will be required to complete a six month probationary period.
- $14/hour starting wage.
