Reaching E-Quality Employment Services Requires a Youth Employment Project Coordinator

Reaching E-Quality Employment Services (REES) is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the position of Youth Employment Project Coordinator.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting participant intake interviews and providing information to potential participants about the Youth Employment Project
  • Providing support and assistance to consumers regarding issues and barriers to employment
  • Identifying and implementing accommodation strategies and tools
  • Facilitating classroom sessions, developing resumes and cover letters, and providing assistance with other employment related documentation
  • Working cooperatively with other staff members, and providing supervision within the project
  • Conducting labour market research and accessing employment information
  • Assisting consumers to access resources
  • Arranging transportation and accompanying consumers on outings for the purpose of career exploration, accommodation needs, informational interviews, and job interviews
  • Maintaining accurate and current documentation and completing regular reports

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Several years of experience facilitating employment related programs
  • A degree in a relevant discipline or an appropriate combination of education and experience
  • Experience working directly with youth, preferably youth with disabilities
  • Employment Counselling and assessment skills with the ability to follow through in a timely fashion
  • Knowledge of community resources and the local, current labour market
  • Excellent problem solving skills with an understanding of barriers to employment
  • Knowledge of disability-related employment issues and job accommodation
  • Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with participants, funders, and the general public
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to create correspondence, reports, and marketing materials
  • Effective computer skills with knowledge of adaptive technologies for persons with disabilities preferred
  • Comfortable working with individuals with disabilities and from diverse backgrounds
