INDEPENDENT CONTRATOR OPPORTUNITY

WEST BROADWAY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (WBDC)

Purpose:
To implement and manage the Good Food Club's fundraising campaign with the support
of the Executive Director, GFC Coordinator and GFC Membership.

Goal:

To expand the membership of the GFC program and develop a sustainable revenue
stream based on current business plan

Deliverables:

1. Plan and prepare implementation strategy, activities, meetings and timeline for
campaign in consultation with the Executive Director, GFC Coordinator and
Membership

2. Develop tracking system for fundraising activities

3. Develop membership database in Giftworks, supervise volunteers to enter data.
Ensure accurate and up-to-date

4. Develop effective marketing materials and write fundraising support material
necessary in order to cultivate the membership to the following:

  • 40 supporting $25 or more members
  • 10 organizational/ business members 
  • 3 – 5 corporate contributions totalling $15,000


5. Ongoing progress reporting of above to Executive Director and submission of a
final report evaluating activities, funds raised, and recommendations for the
future.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Post secondary education with at least two years experience in a similar or related capacity
  • Direct fund-raising experience
  • Ability to independently apply a broad knowledge of fund-raising practices and principles
  • Computer database management in Giftworks and Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Quality oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to facilitate, coordinate and direct the work of volunteers
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team and work as a team member
  • Ability to create and maintain good working relationships with a variety of internal and external constituents
  • Possess own computer with current up to date Microsoft software
  • A passion and knowledge of community development and food security

Compensation:
This is an independent contract, all activities to be completed by November 2009. A
maximum of $5,000 is available for compensation, all costs of doing the work and GST if
applicable.
