INTERNSHIP QUALIFICATIONS
This position is provided in partnership with the Ontario Co-operative Association (OnCoop) and Service Canada - Career Skills. OnCo-op facilitates the Co-operative Internship Experience Program (CIEP). CIEP is a wage-subsidized employment and skill-building program. It provides organizations with Interns, while building the skills and knowledge of a new generation of leaders. These Internship postings are designed to assist youth, 16-29 years of age, make the transition into the world of work.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
• Between 16-29 years of age
• Out of school
• Have a college or university degree
• Canadian citizen, or legally entitled to work in Canada
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design and implement a survey on technical assistance for CED organizations
• Write a report based on the survey results and an analysis of data from technical assistance models
• Support building the Immigrant/Refugee Community Action Network (ICAN) project
• Coordinate outreach work and membership recruitment campaigns
• Develop regional newsletters
• Handle public inquiries and managing group emails
• Manage CCEDNet Ontario's website
• Providing administrative support, logistics and communications to the Executive Director, Program Director, the Board of Directors and committee meetings, and for special events and meetings
• Managing office filing systems (paper and electronic)
• Manage office equipment and supplies
• Handling logistics and communications for organizing workshops across the province
THE CED PROGRAM ASSISTANT IS EXPECTED TO
• Be committed to providing excellent services to CCEDNet's members
• Provide administrative assistance to the Ontario Regional Coordinator
• Work closely with all CCEDNet's staff, members, partners and stakeholders
QUALIFICATIONS
• Post-secondary education in a related field of study
• Proficiency in written and spoken English and French
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience conducting research and writing reports
• Proficiency in managing websites
• Experience working in non-profits or community-based organisations
• Experience working in an office environment
• Knowledge of community economic development theory and practice
• Adaptable to a new fast-paced work environment
• Excellent organizational and administrative skills
• Positive attitude
• Ability to work in a team and independently
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Position based in Toronto
• Requires extensive computer use
• 35 hours per week - involves overtime work at peak periods
• Some travel may be required
