Ndinawemaaganag Endaawaad Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Program Manager to oversee the Chu Manitou Tanka Oyati Tipi transitional housing facility.

Ndinawemaagaanag Endaawaad Inc. has provided a wide range of services including shelter, recreation, education and support since 1993. The programs and services of Ndinawe have been developed according to traditional philosophy, providing urban Aboriginal youth culturally appropriate support and resources to break the cycle of violence, poverty, homelessness, isolation or dependency to which youth have fallen victim

Chu Manitou Tanka Oyati Tipi is a 12 unit residential facility which provides safe, stable housing to youth 16-17 years of age who require support to learn the skills and knowledge required to move to successful independence.

The Program Manager will provide strategic direction to the transition home and be responsible to oversee day to day operations including the following: facility management, human resource management, financial management, and program development and management. The Program Manager will also act as a liaison with child welfare organizations, community partners and build strategic partnerships to support the work of the centre.

Qualifications:

Ø A combination of related education and employment experience related to working within child welfare, program management and supervision.

Ø Strong understanding of and sensitivity to the issues that impact Aboriginal youth

Ø Strong understanding of the Child and Family Services Act, and Residential Licensing requirements

Ø Strong motivational and leadership skills

Ø Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ø Strong time management skills

Ø Able to maintain a high level of independence and self-initiative.

Ø A team player who encourages an environment that fosters effective results in teams.

Ø Ability to work under stressful conditions.

Ø Valid Driver's License

Ø Subject to Criminal, Prior Contact, and Child Abuse Registry Checks.
