Technology and Collaboration Tools Intern
The Canadian Community Economic Development Network (CCEDNet) is inviting applications for a work experience position based out of its office in Ottawa, ON.

INTERNSHIP QUALIFICATIONS
This program is funded by Service Canada and its intention is to give out-of-school post-graduate youth (15-30 years) who have a career focus in CED a relevant six-month work experience placement. Applicants must be Canadian citizens or legally entitled to work in Canada. Applicants must not be in receipt of Employment Insurance and must be unemployed or employed outside of their field of study. This placement is fully subsidized by the Canadian CED Network. This position will provide an hourly wage of $14.50 with an average work week of 30 hours.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
One of CCEDNet's Strategic Plan objectives is to build and improve CCEDNet's internal communications capabilities through investigation and testing of the options available to us through emerging, user-friendly collaboration technologies now rolling out of companies like Google and Microsoft as well as our own server-based Microsoft Sharepoint capacity.
Reporting to the Director of Finance and Administration, the Technology and Collaboration Tools Intern is responsible for researching Internet-based collaboration technologies (such as Google Apps, Microsoft Live, etc.), and developing, and testing a working model of a corporate collaboration site.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Post-secondary education in a related field of study with emphasis in computer technology
• Demonstrated research and writing skills
• Excellent oral and written skills
• Proficiency in current and emerging Internet-based technologies
• Experience working in non-profits or community-based organisations
• Experience working in an office environment
• Knowledge of community economic development theory and practice
• Adaptable to a fast-paced work environment
• Excellent organizational and administrative skills
• Positive attitude
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to work in a team and independently
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
• Bilingualism (English, French) is an asset
WORKING CONDITIONS

• Requires extensive computer use
