Project Manager - Manitoba Cooperative Strategy

Term position until March 31, 2014 (to be renewed annually)

The Project Manager is responsible for the implementation and administration of the Manitoba Cooperative Strategy whose purpose is developing Manitoba's cooperative community. Reporting to the Strategy Steering Committee and working with the Executive Director of the Manitoba Cooperative Association, the incumbent is responsible for overseeing the outreach to the cooperative community, preparing and monitoring budgets, monitoring contracts and projects, and preparing monthly reports. Other responsibilities include coordinating and supporting the three working groups created pursuant to the strategy.


The successful candidate is a highly motivated individual with a diploma or degree in Business administration or related discipline, with several years experience in project management andc coordination. Experience working with cooperatives is a valuable asset. Experience with Microsoft Office software such as Word and Excel is required. Key competencies include excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills, along with strong organizational and facilitation skills. Must be able to prioritize, multi-task, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines.


It is essential that the incumbent has a proven capability to take initiative and to work
collaboratively and effectively in a team environment. Ability to communicate (oral and written) in English and French is preferred. A valid Class 5 driver's license and the ability to travel in Winnipeg and rural Manitoba are required.
