This position also requires a self-starter and independent person who works well alone (at home) with a distance team for support and coaching. The intern will:

Conduct research, evaluate, and document examples of projects and cases with a focus on organizations and groups that are experimenting with and replicating innovations in communities and regions that are relevant to transitioning to a low-carbon future. We are particularly interested in examples of how to restructure ownership to community and co-operative forms of tenure.
  2. The research will target Municipalities, First Nations, Transition Towns that identify they are making progress, organizations, groups, and networks working with: land trusts, housing affordability, energy conservation, renewable energy, and local food systems. Some interviews may be conducted at a distance as a follow-up to learn more about key examples.
  3. The student will promote writing opportunities in the ejournal i4, referring interested people to our editor and identifying stories that hold potential for publication in i4.
  4. The student will systematically build the i4 database for targeted distribution of the e-journal. The objective will be to add 1,000 new contacts.
  5. The position includes a day a week for learning activities based on student learning objectives and the position itself, as well as participation in several Canadian CED Network events with other interns/students. Ongoing coaching and learning supports will be provided by various CCCR staff.
