Job Description:

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Project Coordinator is responsible for helping manage project and program activities of the Social Planning Council. The work involves implementing projects, coordinating events, some research and writing in consultation with staff, volunteers and partner agencies.


Duties and Responsibilities:

The Project Coordinator is expected to:

  • Help implement plans and activities in accordance with the policies and priorities established by the SPCW Board of Directors;
  • Work with committee members and volunteers to conceptualize, design and implement action plans and actual activities;
  • Work extensively with the representatives of partner agencies;
  • Assist in the development and distribution of reports, resources and other materials generated by the SPCW;
  • Facilitate the promotion of Social Planning Council strategic priorities;
  • Share information and collaborate with colleagues locally and nationally;
  • Perform such other organizational tasks as assigned by the Executive Director.


Qualifications:

The skills and experience that applicants should bring to the SPCW include:

  • Bachelors degree in a social field with at least two years experience;
  • Social justice perspective;
  • Good communication and writing skills;
  • Knowledge of community development;
  • Familiarity with Winnipeg community issues;
  • Ability to speak both official languages an asset;
  • Sensitivity to issues of diversity and inclusion.
