About WPRC
The Winnipeg Poverty Reduction Council (WPRC) believes Winnipeg can truly be "A City Where Everyone Belongs." The WPRC works to engage partners from every sector and every corner of our community to develop strategies and solutions that significantly reduce poverty in our city.
The Managing Director will:
- Build relationships and actively engage multiple sectors of our community
- Identify opportunities for change in accordance with WPRC's vision
- Manage the collaboration process and work toward outcomes identified in the WPRC Framework for Action
- Assist in the work of the council, its committees and working groups
- Provide direction, supervision and mentoring to the WPRC Program Coordinator
A demonstrated leader in the community, you are self-directed, highly motivated and thrive in a complex and changing environment. You also have:
- A post-secondary degree in Social Sciences or a related discipline (or a suitable combination of education and experience)
- Experience in relevant senior management roles with demonstrated knowledge in strategic and operational planning, staff and board development, and financial management, preferably in Winnipeg's non-profit sector
- Strong leadership and change management skills combined with an ability to find creative solutions within a collaborative setting
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and develop strong, successful working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Significant understanding of the Winnipeg landscape and the social and economic needs of the community
