NECRC – PATH Employability Centre
Is seeking a part-time Community Liaison for supporting client needs and providing support as established by Milestones Program counsellors. The Community Liaison shares responsibility with Milestones Counsellors for managing and maintaining a caseload, establishing networks with community agencies, developing resources for client use and advocating on behalf of clients.
KEY SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
- Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, as well as presentation
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to identify barriers, develop action plans, and assist clients in problem-solving and attaining goals
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Working knowledge of, and ability to access; community resources providing services to clients with low-income and multi-barriers
- Ability to develop and maintain effective networks with community agencies and within the community
- Efficient in Microsoft Office computer programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook
- Experience and desire to work with persons of diverse cultural, economic and educational backgrounds
- Ability to be an effective team member
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle required for travel to meetings and interviews
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree or college diploma in a related field, such as social services or education or completion of secondary school and several years experience related to counselling/ helping profession, may replace formal education.
