DOWNTOWN AMBASSADOR PROGRAM 2011
The Thompson Neighbourhood Renewal Corporation (TNRC), in partnership with the City of Thompson is accepting applications for the following part-time positions:
Lead Downtown Ambassador (1 position)
Downtown Ambassadors (3 positions)
Qualifications:
- Physically fit: capable of walking or biking eight hours a day in all weather conditions (four days in a week)
- Demonstrated ability to work well with the general public
- Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Current criminal record and Provincial Child Abuse Registry checks
- First Aid & CPR certification is consider an asset
- Languages in addition to English will be considered an asset
- Superior communication skills; both written and verbal
Responsibilities:
- Create a friendly environment in the downtown streets and Millennium Trail
- Available evenings and weekends
- Be approachable and receptive to all inquiries
- Be attentive to surroundings
- Visit businesses and organizations
- Be a positive example and influence
The Downtown Ambassador Program’s Mission Statement is:
“In cooperation with local agencies, endeavor to enhance the local downtown district and Millennium Trail by creating a safe and friendly environment”
