Project Facilitator Job Description
The Saskatchewan Co-operative Association (SCA) is accepting applications for a Project Facilitator position with the new Youth Co-operative Entrepreneurship Program. This position will be a full time position (37.5 hours per week), from June 13 to August 26, 2011.
SCA is a provincial coalition of co-operatives and credit unions. We are incorporated as a community service co-operative that is working to support and promote the co-operative model for community and economic development. SCA’s work focuses on: Co-operative Development, Community, Business, and Government relations, Youth Education and Involvement, Member Services and Communications, and Sustainability and Accountability.
The Youth Co-operative Entrepreneurship Program (YCEP) project is a youth employment and education project for youth ages 12 to 17 in rural, urban and northern communities. Through the creation of their own worker co-operative, youth provide needed services and create their own economic opportunities in local communities. In addition to creating employment opportunities, youth will participate in hands-on practical skills building and entrepreneurship training. With your strong communication, planning and facilitation skills, the Project Facilitator will facilitate the delivery of the YCEP program by completing the duties, including but not limited to the following:
- Plan and deliver presentations to various stakeholders in communities throughout the province.
- Assist and engage in organizing promotional activities, marketing the program and raising awareness in the local community.
- Meet and work with a variety of community groups and stakeholders.
- Organize and prepare meetings and events with various stakeholders.
- Guide the participants and assist in decision making.
- Assist youth with communications.
- Provide assistance and guidance for participants.
- Assist youth with creation and strengthening of their skills.
- Draft and present necessary reports.
Qualifications:
- Possess a valid driver’s licence.
- The successful candidate must either be a returning student for the coming year or a student in the preceding academic year.
- Ability to communicate in both French and English an asset.
- The successful candidate will be required to complete a routine criminal record check.
